How online auctions work

HOW IT WORKS

1.SEARCH

Find auction properties that interest you.

2.PROFILE

Create a profile within the Auction section of the Website. This is a very important step and will ensure that you are notified of any changes or additions to the auction.

3.REGISTER

Register for the event you wish to bid within. Our regular auctions feature online bidding from Thursday to Sunday. Separate registration must be undertaken for each auction you wish to bid within. Registration is fast simple and free.

4.DUE DILIGENCE

Do your research. Relevant documents may be found on the property detail pages to assist you.

5.FINANCE

Arrange your financing prior to bidding. Further information may be found within the finance tab or you may wish to organise your own.

6.VIEW

Contact the estate agent to schedule a viewing. Inspect each property you are planning to bid on. If you wish to have a survey undertaken, please coordinate with the marketing agent, the details of which can be found within the property listing.

7.BID

Place your bid online - it is that simple! Do remember, a Buyer's Premium of 2% will be added to establish the Total Purchase Price

8.EXCHANGE OF CONTRACTS

If you are the high bidder, you will be contacted by the completions team at the end of the auction to confirm the next steps. Please be prepared to complete the contract and transfer the balance of your 10% deposit within 48 hours of the auction closing.

The REDC online bidding process is EASY! Anyone can do it.

  • Register with our website www.zoopla.co.uk/auction
  • Find the home(s) you’re interested in.
  • Register for the auction event in which the property is listed.
  • Review all property information and inspect the properties. All homes can be viewed by appointment – simply call the estate agent listed.
  • Place your bid!
  • There are multiple bidding strategies. Either bid the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the auction property or monitor the auction very closely and bid in increments competitively as the auction progresses!
  • Remember, a Buyer’s Premium equal to2% of the Winning Bid amount plus VAT will be added to establish the Total Purchase Price.
    • Example: Your Winning Bid = £100,000. A Buyer’s Premium of £2,000 (2% of £100,000) and VAT of £350 is added to make the Total Purchase Price = £102,350.
  • If you are the winning bidder, you will receive a Winning Bidder Confirmation via email. If required, a customer service representative will assist with the documentation process and explain the specifics of the sale.
  • Be prepared to complete the contract and transfer the balance of your 10% deposit within 48 hours of the auction close.

Good luck and happy bidding!
